Michael Kohajda
a
doc. JUDr. Michael Kohajda, Ph.D.
Michael Kohajda is our law firm's founding partner and has been a law attorney since 2012. His law practice focuses on financial and tax law and financial markets law, and he has long been involved in legal relations related to real estate. He has successfully represented clients in disputes with the tax and customs administration and in civil litigation.
Michael graduated from the Master's degree programme in Law and Legal Science at the Faculty of Law of Palacký University in Olomouc, where he completed his studies in 2005. While working, he continued his doctoral studies in the Theoretical Legal Sciences program at the Faculty of Law of Charles University in Prague, where he completed his doctoral studies and received his Ph.D. in 2008. He earned a degree (JUDr.) in rigorous procedure the same year. In 2016, he successfully habilitated at the Faculty of Law of Charles University and became an associate professor of financial law and financial science.
Michael has also been active in academia since 2005, teaching financial, tax and banking law, mainly at the Faculty of Law of Palacký University in Olomouc. Occasionally, he teaches specialised courses and lectures at other universities in the Czech Republic or professional forums, especially in the business environment, for Czech and foreign audiences.
He also regularly conducts teaching stays abroad (e.g. at the law faculties of the Universidad de Santiago de Compostela, Universidad de Granada, Universidad de Salamanca, Spain; The Hague University, The Netherlands; Universite Paris Sud, Faculte de Jean Monnet, France; or Università degli Studi di Napoli Federico II or Universita degli Studi di Milano, Italy). He also participates in scientific stays and professional conferences abroad (e.g. USA, Russia, Slovakia, Spain, Turkey, etc.).
Michael was elected in 2021 as a member of the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic for the Olomouc Region. In the Chamber of Deputies, he is a member of the Budget Committee, the Mandate and Immunity Committee and the Constitutional Law Committee. He is also the Chairman of the Banking, Insurance and Financial Markets Subcommittee. In his work in the Chamber, he deals mainly with the issues of his area of expertise and is often the rapporteur for bills in banking, financial markets or taxation. Michael is also active in the local government of his hometown of Šumperk.
Michael is also active in professional bodies. From 2011 to 2016, he was a member of the Working Commission on Public Law II - Financial Law of the Government's Legislative Council. In the past, he was also appointed to the Working Commission to prepare the new Income Tax Act at the Ministry of Finance of the Czech Republic. From 2014 to 2024, he was a member of the Disputes Commission of the Minister of Finance for the gambling sector.
Michael speaks active Czech and English, passive Slovak and French. In his free time, he enjoys travelling, sports and nature. He is a proud partner of his Tibetan Great Dane Pramud Dharmapala Kohajda.
Martin Cahlík

Mgr. Martin Cahlík
Martin Cahlík graduated from the Master's degree programme in Law and Legal Studies at the Faculty of Law of Palacký University in Olomouc, where he works as a researcher in a programme sponsored by the Grant Agency of the Czech Republic. Before joining Palacký University in Olomouc, he graduated from the Business Academy in Valašské Meziříčí with a focus on economics, accounting and written communication, where he passed the state exams in office keyboarding and the state exam in computer word processing. Before joining our law firm, Martin worked as a junior fraud specialist at one of the leading banks in the Czech Republic.
In his practice, Martin focuses primarily on contract law issues, crypto assets, and European regulation and the future of central bank digital currencies.
In his spare time, he enjoys sports, particularly boxing, street wrestling, and in-line skating, and he is an enthusiastic coffee lover.
Among foreign languages, Martin speaks English actively and Russian passively.
Daniel Holý

Mgr. Daniel Holý
Daniel Holý earned his Bachelor's degree in Law in Public Administration and his Master's degree in Law and Legal Science from the Faculty of Law at Palacký University in Olomouc.
He began his career as a paralegal at KOHAJDA & PARTNER, advokátní kancelář s.r.o., where he worked for two years. After doc. JUDr. Michael Kohajda, Ph.D., was elected to the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic, Daniel took on the role of parliamentary assistant. Alongside this position, he continues to practice law at our firm, with a particular emphasis on negotiations with administrative authorities.
In terms of language proficiency, Daniel is fluent in English and has a passive understanding of French. Additionally, he serves as the frontman of the music band Trocha Klidu.
Matěj Kosař

Matěj Kosař
Matěj Kosař is studying the last year of the master's study program Law and Legal Science at the Faculty of Law, Palacký University in Olomouc. Before attending Palacký University in Olomouc, he graduated from Jiráskovo Gymnasium in Trutnov, where his passion for law, psychology, and philosophy began. While studying at the Faculty of Law, he was a member of the prestigious European Law Students' Association. Before joining our law firm, Matěj also worked at a law firm in Prague that specialised in general practice. His ambitious plan is to participate in psychotherapy training focused on gestalt therapy after graduating from law school.
In his practice, beyond standard legal services, Matěj is going to focus primarily on the issue of legal design, aiming to make the law more accessible, user-friendly, and capable of meeting not only legal needs but also the broader concerns of people.
In his free time, he enjoys writing aphorisms, playing chess, doing street workouts, and sports in general.
